Music of the Night

Not quite the Phantom but still music.  Both of these gentlemen were out at night playing away for tips.  The first guy was in Times Square and I really couldn’t hear him with all of the hustle and bustle around.  The second fellow was on 48th and Madison street, I think, and was so into his music I just had to stop and listen for awhile.  I don’t recall the tune now but at the time it was an old familiar jazz melody.  We tossed a few bucks into his case to thank him for his serenade.

That was one of the many things I missed when my job moved to the Burbs years ago, the street musicians. Granted, NYC has many more than we do but the good ones make even a train stoppage bearable.
