You have three hundred words to justify the existence of your favorite person, place, or thing. Failure to convince will result in it vanishing without a trace. Go! (This is taken from Nov. 5, I’m finally getting around to it.)
My favorites will never vanish without a trace because they will always be in my heart no matter what. I cannot limit myself to just one favorite person because places and things come and go and how I may or may not feel about them will in all probability change. But these people are my heart and soul and will never be gone from me no matter how irrational, stupid, infuriating, or “adult” they may be.
Who are they? Well in order of their appearance in my life (but not necessarily importance) they are my son, daughter, grandson, Mr. Sweetie DH, my daughter in law and my granddaughter. They are my favorite bunch of hypoallergenic mixed nuts. My son, my first born, was and is the most amazing thing I have ever made. From the moment I held him and said “Oh my God! I’m responsible for another life now!” he had me. He is the best son anyone could ever hope for even when I want to throttle him!
My daughter is another story. I should’ve known when she didn’t respond to my touch but to her dads at first breath it was going to be one of those things. And even though she still prefers her dad to me I will always love her(grumble). My grandson had me in his tiny little fist the first time I held him too. Just like his dad, they both had my number from go. Plus, it thrills me to watch him drive his dad nuts. PAYBACK!
My daughter in law and granddaughter, are faves because they make me and my son happy and as the saying goes – if momma is happy then everybody gets to live. Then there is DH. He came out of nowhere into my life right on time. He is someone who I know will always have my back. He loves me just as I am smudges and all and just as importantly, he loves my children. DH is just an all the way round the bend and back again great guy – period!!!
And anyone or anything who tries to make any of my favorite people go poof is going to have to deal with me – fangs bared.
Oh darn! I’m over by 70 words 😉
Just a little summer drive by action for some warm memories.
Don’t change or drop a single word. 🙂
Wasn’t about to! But I did cut it down from over 400 words 😉
Every word is worth the over write… change the amount of words you’re allowed but definitely not the story… so wonderful….
Thank you. Was having one of those inspirational moments I guess.
Well I think the author is pretty terrific too!
Awwwwwwww schuckins!
