I get knocked down….

We’ll be singing
When we’re winning
We’ll be singing

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You’re never going to keep me down

I get knocked down
But I get up again
You’re never going to keep me down…..

Chumbawamba – I Get Knocked Down

Even though today’s daily prompt is something entirely different I wanted to go with song lyrics again.  Plus, just as I was pulling out of yet another Toys R Us trying to find the little one this one particular doll and failing – again – this song came on and I felt like I was in a pub singing after a pint or two.  The rest of the highly limited words to this song don’t mean much to me (other than a mention of one of my fave English drinks cider – woohoo!) but the one refrain is such a rallying line it just gets in you.

Sometimes things or people in life will knock you straight down onto your bum.  Sometimes you just feel like giving up and staying there.  But when I hear this defiant cry of “oh no you won’t!” in this song it makes me want to get back up again and keep on keeping on.  Take that (fill in the blank with whatever/whom ever is trying to keep you down)!  So how does that relate to today’s photo?  Well it is of this one last still there you aren’t going to keep it down – at least not yet anyway – Gerber daisy in a pot in the micro farm on my deck.  Tough little bugger, huh? You should see how well the rosemary, lemon thyme, and lavender are holding up.

Every year, I’ll see a rose or some bloom in the garden and wonder how on earth did it make it, just like your daisy here. That song will be in my head until bed time…
