While in New York City I spend several hours spread across two days exploring (and spending some quiet time) inside of this magnificent church. To see so many people in there even when there wasn’t mass; to behold scaffolding of the renovation crews right next to wonderful windows and statues, and to watch the faithful pray while all of this was going on around them…amazing. There was only one part that photos were not allowed and I unfortunately did not venture into that area but from the looks of it (see the photo of The Pieta) there must have been some very interesting things back there.
