The bees were so happy about all of the cactus flowers that I gave up for awhile trying to get a shot without one being in it. I was already living dangerously photographing things that could stick me that didn’t move without incurring the wrath of something that moved rapidly. This was taken at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Arizona.

Up until this time I’ve only seen them bloom in books…which would make for a very prickly book 😉
