Popillia Japonica

Welcome to this weeks theme: Macro images!  Today I am starting with the scourge of many a garden – the Japanese beetle.  Beautiful green color but the damage I’ve seen them do to rose bushes is just horrible.  Hope your garden is spared.

Neat shot. And yes they are pretty as bugs go…but they sure do cause havoc in the garden!

  2. It’s a very pretty bug. I haven’t seen them in my garden.

I can’t believe how you managed to make one of my nemeses’ look so beautiful. The J Beetle is the reason I no longer grow roses. Auuurggh!

Very nice shot! Bugs can be beautiful in their own light, but sure can wreak havoc in gardens and fields.
