Looks like the squirrels got here and made off with whatever was inside.  Anyone know what kind of seed/nut this is?  All I know is when you’re walking alone in a quiet part of the woods they make a really loud noise crashing through the trees.

    I think it’s a hickory nut! Black walnuts look more heart shapey on the inside. I have 10,000 squirrels in my yard. I should ask one of them. –Lisa

    No idea whatsoever. I’m most familiar with the two-legged variety, having dated pretty much all of them, at one time or another.
