Newbury Street in Boston is where you will find all manner of restaurants, upscale shopping, gorgeous brownstones, and fantastic people watching. We were walking around trying to find a place to eat (which by this time of night on this street is a lesson in waiting) when while waiting to cross the street I saw this patio full of people getting their sushi on at a place called Snappy Sushi. I whipped out the camera and wouldn’t you know it…I got spotted by the lady in the yellow shirt.
Took the shot and kept walking; not making any eye contact with her as I walked past. No, it was not me who just took a picture of you about to chow down on your California roll 🙂

She does not look to pleased… you should have a press card made up and just flash it at people like her…. saying…”Press”
DH has suggested I wear a fedora with a “Press” card stuck in the band 🙂
Hi! Thanks for taking the trouble to “like” my post “Mabel takes Charge” 😀
Hard to believe but I was facing similar problems too you when taking photos on that mountain! Our hills can be so busy there is the inevitable consequence that everyone there is in everyone else’s photos. On the whole I would have to say that those snapped on the hill look an awful lot happier than your diner. Maybe her expression was more a comment on the sushi…and you were thus fortunate to avoid it.
Maybe it was the sushi or something her companion said to her. Either way, it does make for an interesting focal point, yes?
Have to agree the eye is certainly drawn to her expression 😆
Btw I was curious as how you managed to stumble across that post in my blog as the only tag it has is “hillwalking”.?
I cannot for the life of me recall – sorry.
No problem…merely wondered what anybody could possibly type in that could find something as obscure as that particular post.
Love the title! I wonder how she would have reacted if you said “gotcha” as you walked by….
Didn’t want to run away quickly with the camera hanging off me LOL
Haha.. she does not look happy.. but perhaps she is looking at you with despair because her boyfriend just broke up with her. I think photographs like this are better for capturing someone’s emotion, it tells so many stories to the viewer.
Or she is thinking I wanted steak and you took me to a sushi place 😉 Isn’t it fun to try and caption something?
She looks as though sh just had a piece of bad fish. 🙂
Whatever it was she was “not amused!” LOL
