And possibly the you know what bug that goes around this time of year. Either it’s that virus that shall not be named or a case of food poisoning (I blame that bit of fish I got from the hot food bar at a local grocery store) or maybe even both. Either way, I’m feeling lower than a snakes belly button in a ditch. My plan was to get THE shot after Thanksgiving so that if there were any potential reactions they wouldn’t muck up the holiday with the family. But as the saying goes – best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Mice making plans? Last thing the world needs is plotting rodents.
These photos were taken last year at the local conservatory which I had plans of going to again this weekend for the holiday display…maybe not. But back to the poinsettias. Isn’t it amazing how many varieties there are now? When I was a child I only saw red ones. Now they come in a great many beautiful colors and shapes. When they appear you know it’s that time of the year. Do you decorate with poinsettias or is there a different holiday plant that you use?
Wonderful shots and it’s coconuts. 🙂
Oy mate! Today they’re poinsettias. Singing roll a bowl a ball a penny a pitch 🙂
They’re lovely!
Thanks
“Snakes belly button in a ditch” is one I must remember I always use the “below shark sh..t at the bottom of the seas” … Beware admitting when you were younger that there was only one variety and now so many.. might just point to how old you’re getting… lol… hope you feel better soon…
I’m going to tell Linda you’re picking on me about how old I might be!!! And anyway, they’ve only come out with the new poinsettias in the last 10 yrs or so…my story and I’m sticking with it 😉 Thanks
I hope that you get to feeling better soon!
I love the poinsettias! This year the only decorations that we have is a small (2.5 ft) tree with some lights and ornaments. Motorhomes don’t have much room for anything else.
Thanks. Yeah, I know several people who live the mobile life like you and have decorations down to a minimum.
The poinsettias are gorgeous. I hope you are feeling better VERY SOON. It’s just awful!
Thanks. It’s bad timing too! I haven’t even started doing any shopping for presents 😦
I’ve always had at least one poinsettia in the home for the holidays and in the RV a small one is the extent of my holiday décor. Hope you feel better real soon….not the fun way to loose a few pounds 😆
Step by step; inch by inch I’m working at getting better. Thanks. Our tree is up with lights but that’s it. Too pooped to decorate more.
I almost always had these at Christmas. This year I went with little Charlie Brown tree-looking plants. But, alas, I have a brown thumb so I don’t expect them to last too long. I sure hope you’re recovering fast, what an awful way to feel in the holiday season!xx
I never bought them because they looked so pitiful when the leaves fell off and sticks remained.
hmmmm plotting mice….might be kin to those dirty rats! Feel better soon sis!
Thanks, I’m trying.
So sorry to see that you’ve been ill, Teri. I hope you’re on the mend, now.
I, too, remember, seeing only reds and what a surprise it was to see white ones. Now, it seems like a new variety of poinsettias appears every year. I hope they’re done messing with the color, though. A purple poinsettia wouldn’t look right.
Ok now I want to see a purple one! LOL I’m on the mend but still not to the goal just yet. Thanks
They sure are pretty…and it is amazing how many varieties there are now. Hope you’re feeling better!
Not quite 100% but determined! 🙂
