In a one horse open…

Well, it’s not a sleigh that’s for sure!  There were four horses giving carriage rides this day and it was a nice change of pace to hear their hooves clip clopping instead of car and motorcycle engines going by (although they were there too).  Made the historic area just a little bit more “historic.”  And the driver looked quite snappy too!

I love the sound of horses hooves on the pavement also. It’s nice to slow down in this fast paced world. I can imagine what a ride would be like at night time with snow flurries, a warm blanket, and a thermos of hot chocolate! Oh…and a bag of those roasted chestnuts too!!!

Everyone should take a carriage ride at least once as a child and again as an adult. It’s a wonderful thing.
