Our Christmas present to each other was a week in Key West, Florida. It was wonderful to be able to swim in the ocean and go about in shorts and tee shirts in December. Something that is not done here in the midwest. And the food? Fresh from the fishermen…good eats! Key West displayed their holiday spirit on their homes, hotels, bicycles, and shops with beautiful lights and decorations. I did find it a bit amusing to see palm trees festooned with lights and people wearing Santa hats while walking around in shorts and flip flops, but you go with what’s there, right?

Those are so pretty! I have never been to Key West before, and it totally looks like my kind of place! :)-Ashley
I whispered in DH’s ear about making this a yearly Christmas gift 😉
great series of shots!
Thanks 🙂
We went to Key West after Christmas a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It was probably our most laid back vacation. Was this the home of the orange iguana?
Yes it was. He and some buddies (competition?) were hanging out by the fort.
Sounds and looks like a fabulous time and I agree…..a repeat gift – could be a yearly tradition has begun. Merry Christmas!
I’m suggesting it as a tradition (wink wink) Merry Christmas to you too 🙂
TD: I think you just gave me a idea for WW’s birthday. Any 5 Star hotel recommendations? Restaurant recommendations?
Pictures are lovely as always. Wishing you a very wonderful Christmas and a really prosperous and peaceful New Year!
Drop me an email and I will give you an ear full! 🙂 And a wonderful and blessed Christmas and New Year to you and yours.

And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too 🙂
Wow! Now this was a nice treat for you guys!!! Traditions maybe???
Cool shots of the lights too!
I’m hoping it becomes a tradition! Thanks
I haven’t been to Key West in ages. As much as I enjoyed going there, I never went around Christmas. I’d love to see the place decorated for the holidays. I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves.
I had so much fun! The food I ate! The drinks I drank! The Key Lime pie I inhaled! You should give it a return visit. It wasn’t as crowded the week we went compared to other weeks.
Lovely photos–and I envy you!
It was awesome! Nothing like sun, sand, and ocean right before Christmas.
