(Because it’s cold and wintery outside I have declared this butterfly week to lift spirits! Each day a different butterfly from the Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory will be featured. I hope I have their names correct but if you happen to see one mislabeled please let me know the proper name.)
At my local conservatory this butterfly has given me a run for my money many times when trying to photograph it but there was an abundance of them at the Key West Butterfly & Nature Conservatory so I was happily able to get some very good shots. For the first time ever I even had one land on me! There were quite a few fluttering around near me with a couple bouncing off my head…which is a very interesting sensation; almost magical. I don’t know why it is designated as the Common Blue Morpho because it’s far from common to me.
Beautiful. My little one is obsessed with butterflies! :)-Ashley
Thank you. Then I hope you share my butterfly week with her 🙂
Don’t you love it when they are so accommodating? Love that blue!
Yes I do even if I still had to use stealth 😉
Blue Morphos are so, so beautiful! Nice shots—they’re rarely still long enough for such captures.
It was a small enough place and so many of them that my ninja butterfly skills worked 🙂
What an amazing experience!!! And photos too!
I loved it! Stay tuned…3 more days of butterflies to go 🙂
