But oh my goodness the fragrance these green lovelies had was fantastic!! You could sense their presence as soon as you walked around the corner and into the cove where they were on display; such a sweet perfume. I just wanted to wrap myself in a blanket of them but of course that wouldn’t have gone over well with the horticulture folks. So I had to restrict myself to just sitting on a bench next to them and having a moment of sweet smelling zen.
Is there a certain scent or fragrance that takes you to your special happy place?
Marvelously beautiful…
Beautiful to see and beautiful to smell.
I can imagine the scent now.
It was amazing! One year they had a species that smelled of chocolate 🙂
That is gorgeous! And looks like it smells fantastic! 🙂
It really had the most marvelous aroma but I’ve always thought this species of orchid looked like it was opening it’s mouth and going AHHHH!
We really need cameras that allow for “scratch ‘n sniff” so that we can all experience what you did. Lovely photo.
Well with 3D printers and such who knows! Thanks LOL
Beautiful, Teri. I hope that one day you can get to an orchid farm/ranch. They really are something to see and when you enter a greenhouse filled with a species in full bloom and fragrance, it is just incredible!
I would be one very happy camper if I could do that but I have no idea where any are around me 😦
Here’s a way to find out. Start checking the plant stakes in the orchids’ pots for the name of the plant’s producer and then google that name. Hausermann’s, for example, is west of Chicago. If there’s a place near to you, eventually you’ll find a stake bearing its name.
Thanks for the tip 🙂
Amazing flowers! Where you allowed to bring a tripod? Great photo Teri and I can only imagine the aroma. It must have been wonderful!
I didn’t this year but one year my photo club came in armed to the teeth with gear and they didn’t run us out 🙂
