Well it looks like I really might be back in the U.K soonish but things are still in the sorting it out phase. DH’s parents will be having a big anniversary and the celebration is going to be somewhere in southwest England. From what I’ve been told it’s going to be a right family reunion with other relatives coming in from as far away as Hong Kong. I hope I do as well with jet lag this year as I did when we first went across the pond. Actually coping with the time change was easier going over there than when we returned. I was confused for days after we got back home. Then again that mess with the plane being ridiculously delayed and being held over at JFK for hours didn’t help one bit but I digress…
This week’s theme will be back to England. I had a great time when we went in 2011 and unlike the weather they are having now, they were having a bit of a drought when we went. I hope it’s dry when we go back. This image was taken in Covent Garden where there is all manner of shopping and things to eat but paella? Who knew! These two were so sweet when I asked them to hold Perry the Platypus. I was doing a “Where’s Perry” photo book for the grand who was 8 at the time. Amazing how a little stuffed animal opens up people to conversation. Perry will be showing up more this week.
The Great British Pub Menu includes Paella? I would have thought sausages and mash to be more appropriate but it is a multicultural society these days.
And Perry is a platypus, a symbol of Australia. How? Why? 🙂
Will have to post the picture of the “proper English breakfast” too. Besides fish and chips they are extremely fond of a good curry. And Perry? A popular American cartoon that features one American/English family and their pet platypus, multicultural neighbors, a mad scientist, and general good fun. Why the platypus? Who knows!
Perry is a cutie. A trip back to the UK sounds great.
I hope it works out but you know the saying…best laid plans etc.
Love it! How cute is that picture with Perry!?! Adorbs!-Ashley
Oh wait till later this week and Perry’s other picture!!!!
Paella in the UK…? As long as it tastes good, that’s all I’d really care about I guess. If you make it back there, you should dedicate a whole blog post to the paella!
Alas, I didn’t eat any. I was a bit leery of paella being out in the open like that but I did inhale some Indian food and scones with clotted cream and jam? Heavenly….I’d do a weeks worth of posting on that one 🙂
I’m looking forward to your future image of Perry … and all of his surroundings, too. 🙂
I could do an entire week on his exploits but I won’t drive you all nutty with that 🙂
I will definitely be looking forward to those award winning photos!
Well lets hope the party happens and we can go first 🙂
I hope you both can manage to get away. It would be a great trip and I’m sure the In-Laws would be very happy to see you. Good luck!
Yeah I hope it comes out too and I will be happy to see the in-laws. We actually get along well 🙂
