This was taken right after the parade of the guards. I saw an opportunity to take a totally unique photo and I went for it. I kindly explained to the young officer what I was doing and he agreed to hold Perry for me for this shot. Now if you notice, Perry has changed looks a bit since his first photo taken at the paella place. He’s no longer Perry but secret agent, Agent P. How did this happen? I lost the first Perry while watching some barely clothed maniac on a unicycle juggle swords. Perry fell out of my pocket and by the time I realized he was gone, he was gone!
I was so upset thinking the photo book was going to be about two pages long when I recalled there being a Disney store in Covent Garden. I rushed off and asked the kid at the door did they carry these stuffies. He pointed towards the back saying they did indeed carry them. I almost hugged him and he did give me a “odd American” look. But they only had Agent P’s. No problem! I just wrote in the little guys photo book that Agent P had a mission in London and all was right with the project again – phew!!!
Made me smile 😉
Perry did that to everyone 🙂
I’m sorry, how did you not get a picture of the barely clothed maniac on a unicycle juggle swords? I could barely read past that.
LOL. I did indeed take a picture of the maniac in his pink briefs on top of a tall unicycle but decided not to post it.
You get points for taste and decorum, then. But I will always wonder. :).
He’s modest compared to the almost naked book store guy in Quartzite, Arizona. I’ve been dared to do that post by a friend.
Maybe some kind of global comparison is in order.
Ah – The officer is a good sport to pose like that. I think the London Bobbies do a good bit of PR.
Funny thing. He was so sweet about posing with Agent P but some other tourist tried to barge into my shot and I had to firmly tell him to step away from the Bobby!
It’s funny.. Their police men look so much friendlier than ours over here in the states. Maybe its the uniforms??
Not sure how much friendlier they are overall but this guy was a sweetie.
Great photo and what a good sport!! I love that I am reliving all of my London memories through your pictures (although perry wasn’t involved in mine…but he should have been!!) –Lisa
He was such a sweetie and I’m happy I’m bringing back fond memories for you 🙂
Great story about the two critters … and the smile on the policeman is great too!
There was a panic in Coven Garden there for a moment…and aren’t they both cute? 🙂
Love it. Agent P in one hand and “Police Line” tape in the other. Looks like he’s ready to face a crowd of kids and prepared if they get unruly. 🙂
Those little ones are like herding cats sometimes.
Classic photo. He was very obliging. 🙂
Well I do know how to smile and ask convincingly 😉
