I think these are Fox Bats. Fox or whatever kind they are they are some very very big bats! As large as they were I expected at any moment for one of them to unwrap it’s wings and give me a good Bela Lugosi Dracula “Good Evening”. Poor things, I wonder if they ever get to fly around in the zoo.

indeed..and it’s bit weird to see bats outside instead of in a cave..nice picture!
Thanks and I agree. Bats hanging in a cage in a zoo just seems wrong and weird!
They look BIG!
They are big! If I saw one of these in the air I’d run for cover.
Yeah – I’m not big on bats. That said, we were in a restaurant in Bar Harbor, ME a few years back. It was summer and the windows were all open. A bat flew in and fluttered around until he found his way out. It was entertaining and did not bother anyone, especially those of us seated. The hostess (who was standing) was a little freaked out.
Entertaining? I would’ve been right behind the hostess freaking! lol
I remember one year finding a bat hiding or sleeping in our patio umbrella, it was just a baby but he got water hosed anyway!
Picking on the little baby batty 😉
Yes, he scured me!
I agree that something is not right with bats hanging in daylight! My father-in-law once had a bat fly into his hotel room while on vacation in upstate New York. From all accounts, he screamed like a little girl ( no disrespect to little girls).
Hey! Little girls have some mad screaming skills 😉
So do some big girls!
Flying foxes are huge! I saw them in Australia and couldn’t believe their size. Here, bats are about the size of small sparrows.
Bats have their purposes in life but it’s perfectly alright if they do their thing far away from me!
