Iris Memories

The house that I grew up in had a fenced yard with a row of roses growing down one side and the back filled with irises.  There were lilac ones like this and white ones.  I loved them and said that when I grew up I would one day own a house that would also have the back fence filled with iris.  Sadly, that never happened.  I did plant rose bushes at the houses I lived at but never any irises.  I always meant to do it but never did; hopefully next year.

Today when I see these flowers I am transported back in time – back to that little girl who not only loved climbing the big sycamore tree in her yard but the flowers too!
