Model K 1910 Automobile

This beauty was in the machine lathe section of the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union terminal.  It is a Model K manufactured by the Cincinnati Schacht Company which manufactured 8000 vehicles from 1905 – 1913.  I’ve been to a few classic car shows but never have I seen a Model K.

Something that really caught my attention was the big chains connected to both rear wheels which propelled it.  It was like looking at a bicycle chain and gears but on a car.  Also notice what side of the car the steering wheel is on.  The owner of the car who donated it to the museum worked for 12 years restoring it and it won the 1994 Grand National Antique Car Show.  That is dedication.

(More antique vehicles coming up)
