The butterflies are back at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio and so was I! The butterfly guy was doing his talk about butterflies while holding a Blue Morpho and asked had anyone been able to take a photo of one of them with their wings open. Guess who was the only one to raise their hand? He was shocked! I didn’t tell him that I got the photo at another butterfly house but why split hairs 😉
This image, shot through the glass of the hatchery, is of a Paper Kite butterfly that had recently emerged from its chrysalis and was waiting for its wings to dry.
The time has come for me To break out of this shell I have to shout That I am coming out – Diana Ross “I’m Coming Out”
Marvelous capture.
Thank you.
Beautiful image Teri!
Thank you, Indah. I was fortunate that there were several close to the glass hatching.
I need to get out…glad you at least are out shooting.
The weather has cooperated for a few days so… hope you get out soon!
Rain in store for our weekend along with some sleet and snow to end the work week on Friday…
Yuck! We are having sun then rain then more rain and then maybe sun again.
Count your blessings…
Nicely shot. Did he ask for photographic proof? Regardless, well done to catch one in flight.
He was just hanging around but getting that model released signed was a bear! 😉
Ah spring….I knew there had to be a musical tie in but could not place it. Thanks for making it easy.
Oh how I wish I had a butterfly garden!! Great shot T!
Beautiful image…
Last day my daughter was waiting for such a moment 🙂
Thank you. I’m glad they do this at our conservatory. I hope your daughter gets to see the moment.
There is one butterfly park in Bangalore, where we used to go often.
Now, in Kerala, we could watch all these action right under our nose in garden 🙂
Stunning capture. God nature is magnificent!
Yes it is! Thank you.
I remember when I was a teacher and we had a butterfly garden. So Much Fun For The Children!
Neat shot!
Come to think of it, I recall one of the other classes in the building I was in doing this 🙂
Beautiful image … and the story behind it makes it even more intriguing!
Thank you 🙂
Ah, you had me singing right away! Watching butterflies flit around a conservatory *is* reason to sing, isn’t it! 😀
Yes it is! 🙂
That is beautiful!
Thank you and hugs to you and the family.
