As I said in a previous post, the craftsmanship of buildings that have been standing for a long time just astounds me sometimes. In this case, for the weekly photo challenge I picked this image taken inside of the New York Public Library. All of that marble, wood and intricate carvings! Can you imagine just how much it would cost to replicate this kind of work today? Inconceivable….
What amazing craftsmanship. They don’t build them like that anymore.
No they don’t…a shame.
I’m not even sure it could be replicated. The talents of the craftsmen years ago seems to be a lost art. Beautiful architecture.
And this was all done without the “modern” tools used today.
