Thanks to you who identified this truck as an International Harvester from this post. That was the front of it – today is the rear. As we were driving along trying to find our way back to the highway to get home from our Hocking Hills trip, I saw this creature from a distance standing alone in a field surrounded by thorns. I wanted to name it Aurora 😉

Looks like an old well drilling rig. Nice photo!
Thanks! How did you know?
The pipes on the one side, control box on the other side, and the bottom of the tower laying down on the truck. There where probably more sections to the tower when the truck was operating.
Cool old well drilling truck. It looks like it came of work one day and was just left there. Great capture. Cheers
Ok both of you knew it was a well drilling truck…done much well drilling have you? lol
Oh yeah, of course =P We all have wells around here and you always see the trucks.
Cool truck… love trucks! Well drilling… no clue! Feeling better? Did you have that hot buttered rum??
No rum yet and still not feeling all that hot…my patience is wearing thin and I’m sick of the effects of the meds 😦 I’ve got stuff to do!!!
Oh my sweet friend… feel better. Prayers for you are being sent now.
Wow, time has really taken it’s toll on this abandoned vehicle.
But it was in really great shape for being out in the elements.
Scary and cool at the same time! 🙂 That pipes looked like gun machines 😀
First time I’ve ever seen a well drilling truck as Tim and Chris pointed out 🙂
Gorgeous shot! I love how nature surrounds it!
