Feral Mad Dog Bueller vs. Crabby Jack (I forget which one is which as well as what they were supposed to be painting) battled along with what I assumed were their handlers. While in the ring the art brawlers painted what the announcers selected based upon what they liked shouted out by the crowd, but some of them were also out painting some beautiful murals along with the other artists that I will be featuring soon. There was a challenge from the audience by two little children who wanted to take down the winner of the aforementioned match (sister was coaching her brother) with the subject being a Dr. Seuss monkey. Of course the young ones won that battle 😉
(Urban Scrawl is a 2 day arts festival organized by the Franklington Arts District showcasing the live creation of some amazing and beautiful murals by artists from Central Ohio and beyond. The event has grown each year with this year’s festival having a first. The completed murals are being made available for purchase at the Art for Franklinton fundraiser auction to benefit the Franklinton Arts District’s new George Bellows Artist Grants program. Murals that aren’t part of the fundraiser auction will be weather-sealed and mounted publicly in the neighborhood in cooperation with local businesses to help enliven the community of Franklinton, Central Ohio’s historic first settlement. Now how cool is that!)
I really like these.
Thank you. It was a fun event.
Very cool!
Performance art at it’s finest 😉
Intense…as it should be!
I wish I had seen the ladies “brawling” that would’ve been good! 🙂
Indeed – a real photo op…
What fun! Did you get in a round of wrestling?
Oh heck no!!! But I was dancing (not break dancing)
This is awesome! I’m not a “wrestling fan”, but I’d definitely attend an event like this! Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! I have no idea what will be on the venue next year but I’m going! I love discovering new events.
Can’t wait to see your next adventure!
For this week it will be more of this festival. I just had so much fun 🙂 🙂
Enjoy and make a great memory!
If you want to read a funny from one of my past adventures (I still get teased about it at home) try this one: http://bit.ly/1JJvQsx
What a wonderfully creative idea. You got some great images here, Teri. Cheers =)
Thank you 🙂 I think they perform other places too but this was so fun.
