It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Just culling from my files some Christmas past photos as I’m still up to here with boxes and packing.  I’ve been enjoying your holiday posts and it just makes me want to decorate and bake cookies but I can’t yet.  Currently we are “discussing” where to put the big tree and how to decorate outside in our new place; negotiations continue.  We might need a mediator 😉

But I do have my Charlie Brown tree that will have a place of honor on the dining room table.

Awesome photos! Whoa! The last one…. did you used to live in St. Charles?

    • I lived on the other side of the river in Maryland Heights. My son and family live in St. Charles.

I have incredibly fond and great memories of St. Charles! My grandparents lived there on Pine Street (I was born there too but only there for one month because we moved to Houston) and when we would visit, we ALWAYS had to have dinner and dancing on the Admiral (now, it’s a stink’n gambling boat) and we ALWAYS had to get fudge from a quaint fudge shop downtown. My grandfather flew for PanAm and Eastern out of St. Lou following the war. Awesome memories!

      • WOW! I was born in STL and often went to Old St. Charles to eat, drink and hit up the shops there. My dad was a waiter once on the Admiral and I remember going to CYC dances on it and hanging out on the riverfront to watch the 4th of July fireworks. It’s closed completely now I think. Oh the flight deals I miss with Ozark and TWA…memories 🙂

LOL! Small stink’n world, eh? Did you ever make it to the Noah’s Ark restaurant? I remember a New Year’s brunch there, once, and having my first drink of champagne (which my grandmother gave me). That a place called Mr. Steak that she’d love to go to. Yes, fun times, and a beautiful city!

      • Never got to the Ark but always wanted to. That site is now shopping, restaurants and an AMC movie place. Yes it is a small world but if that song stays stuck in my head I’m coming for you!!!!

        Love it! :^)

At least you waited until December. They had the Christmas section up in Walmart in October. Ugh!

  3. I do have a certificate in Mediation from Quinnipiac School of Law if I can render any assistance 🙂

  4. Key West Santa is my fave. I hope you dig out from the boxes and packing tape soon.

I may start this weekend, but so far, the ‘spirit’ hasn’t hit me. Have fun negotiating.

I’m clearing my backlog of notifications and every time I came across your title, Andy Williams sang the title to me. This place is haunted. Who knew?

  7. Nancy says:

I love the photo of Santa in Key West. But my favorite is you and he together!
