Cocktail party with Fendi

Yesterday I received an invitation to attend a party at Saks Fifth Avenue in Columbus, Ohio to preview the exclusive new Fendi men’s and women’s collection with the buyer Jamillah Davis Hernandez.   Cocktails, appetizers and live music along with gorgeous merchandise;  I put the packing tape down and went.

Fendi, founded in 1925 in Rome,  is is an Italian luxury fashion house whose specialties include fur, ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, fragrances, eye wear, and some adorable whimsical accessories.  The event was well attended and featured this centerpiece ice sculpture that was functional as well as fashionable.  Champagne was poured in the top on the left and it would flow through a tube into a your waiting flute on the lower right side.  This was the hit of the party and yes, I did partake.  Tis the season to be jolly, right?

Fendi’s merchandise is beautiful and I love their little bag charms like the little yellow crocodile here in the display case.  I would love to have one of their initial charms with the letter T on it; perhaps I should put that in my letter to Santa.  The trio playing was a perfect accompaniment to the event especially when they played that classic from Charlie Brown’s Christmas – Christmas Time is Here.  The holiday ambiance went up a few levels with that tune.

The buyer and I spoke about which products I liked, what lines they will be expanding soon and I noticed we shared the same taste in high heels.  What? I do wear more than functional photography clothing sometimes 😉

The Fendi specialist at Saks is Lindsey Drahos and I cannot recommend her enough for your shopping needs be it Fendi or anywhere else in the store; I have used her services as a personal shopping assistant quite a few times.  It was a fun event and a welcome respite from my packing frenzy.

This sounds like a fun night, something out of the ordinary. The champagne can only make things better.
