As this was in the front of a working farm and there was a nice pickup truck behind it for sale, I wondered if this was once a station just for farm equipment or was this a gas station for those traveling this two lane road back when it was the only road in the area.  Quite a little time capsule.

Cool. I like the Reds of the rust.

They were originally orange(ish) pumps in the first place so the rust just got wonderfully rustier.

I like. It really makes the shot. I’m not sure which I prefer, this or the BW

Thanks! They both have their merits. Two more posts of them then it’s done. Wondering what the little handles on the side were for???

If one were to know what they were for, it would certainly date one, wouldn’t it. Present company excluded, of course.

        Of course! 😉

Usually I prefer the character added by B/W, but in this case, the rust tells the story. These are great.

Unique finding, Teri! Great image for time capsule theme – I do wonder if it is still being used 🙂

Boy I remember those days. I remember when there wasn’t unleaded gas. I remember when gas cost 25 cents a gallon. I hate gas, and oil companies.
