The 9th annual Zombie walk took place on June 11th and as always things that shuffled, snarled and drooled were out in full force. The Zombie walk is a fun charity event that was accepting donations for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. All ages attend the event from tiny sweet baby zombies (sweet baby zombies???) who were licking the makeup blood off their hands up to some very creative and talented adult zombie costumes.
The Haunters convention, which sponsored the walk, had all manner of scary things inside from evil clowns (hate clowns) to realistic looking foam weapons and of course makeup! If you needed ideas for a haunted house or Halloween event then it was here. For this years walk there was an added bonus of zombie tag; you wore these blinking badges that turned red if you wanted to be infected or if you got too close/tagged by one infected otherwise you blinked green. Your choices if you became infected were to remain that way and try to get someone else or to find the health kit that was wandering around the route. It reminded me of some video games I’ve played.
This years route took over and shut down for a little while part of downtown Columbus, Ohio as the parade shambled down High street, zombie related vehicles behind them, turning towards a park and then right smack through the middle of another street festival. I didn’t get a lot of photos this year (although there were many photographers out there including an undead one) as I was having fun taking a few shots and then backing off before I could get tagged. Thankfully DH wasn’t playing and got some great shots I couldn’t as I was running away. Those little kid zombies are speedy little monsters. I survived the event uninfected!

Ghouly fun. Zombies go all out for the latest fashion! Great coverage of the event.
Thanks. The event pulls in some very creative folks.
Great images. I can see this being a big event back home. Cheers!
Fun all for a good cause. Can’t beat that!
This is awesome – but at the same time – truly terrifying! Especially the clowns 😳
Did you see the posts with me and Tiny and the other clown then? hehehe It’s a fun event…weird and only a tiny bit scary 🙂
I would of been scared and runned the other way….smile.
Nahhhhhh! Well I did go eeek and run but only because I didn’t want to be tagged.
Wow! There are some sold out zombies. What fun.
It’s never boring 🙂
Absolutely wild. Nightmares?
Heck no! I had a blast. I was even dancing with the clown holding the ax but I will admit a few of them were pretty icky!
Well it sounds just up your alley. Glad to hear you had such a great time.
Thanks. I was exhausted by the end of the day since it was 93 degrees that day. Don’t want to imagine how the people in costume and makeup felt!
