This was one of the most tranquil spots in the gardens. All you heard was the water running downhill over large rocks and you were surrounded by trees that formed a canopy over the stream. I took this one shot standing in the middle of the stream on a flat rock that the water wasn’t running over.
Continuing to climb up the hill to find the source of the water for the stream which eventually ends in the lake (didn’t find it, must be recycled water or such) we came to the Serenity Garden. It truly was as we sat on a bench there on a high plateau for awhile quietly and peacefully. Around us were ponds, another tea house with a Japanese bridge and rare conifers such as this one with it’s black pinecones. I tried my best to capture the essence of the cones but nothing could do it justice like being there. In the sunlight the little clear bits of what I suppose might be sap sparkled like diamonds. It was magical…
Beautiful garden!
The place is amazing and even more so that it’s owned by one couple.
I can feel the serenity….I like the last shot with the pine cones. Cheers!
It is a serene spot, they advertise the entire gardens that way. Those pine cones were amazing!
What a lovely place. And one couple owns this? The pine cones are stunning. What a romantic spot…
Yes, one couple own this. Wow, huh? I loved those pine cones, they were wearing their own diamonds 🙂
