Chrome converts so well to black and white anyway but when the car itself is silver, well it just gets even better! According to the owner everything in the car was original except for a radio he installed. He said he needed to have something to listen to while driving although with the engine noise and all he had to turn it up quite a bit.
I guess you could say this is Monochrome Monday with a dash of color since I’m sharing the color photos of this Morgan today also.
(This was the 34th annual Arthritis Foundation Classic Car Show and Cruise-In held in the city of Dublin, Ohio. It is one of the largest classic car shows in the midwest with 1500+ cars in attendance. All proceeds from the show benefit The Arthritis Foundation Great Lakes Region. Various awards are given for different classes with a big one being the competition for the 100 “six foot” trophies at the cruise-in for Top 100 across all makes. I will be sharing one of those winners and it’s proud owner with you tomorrow.)
Very nice. I’d love to go for a ride!
You might be a bit squished in it but it did have a bit of legroom in it 😉
What a car! How I’d love to take it out for a ride down a deserted county lane. Ahhh ….
One must wear the proper headgear when tooling around in this 😉
Yes, remember Isadora Duncan …
🙂
They make those about thirty miles from where I live – the factory is near Great Malvern in Worcestershire. I see the odd one or two as I drive around that way.
How very interesting! There were quite a few of them at the show here.
They make for great photographs – don’t they?
Indeed they do and I can’t help but wonder how one gets in and out of them 🙂 BTW – there was an entire British section of cars at the show.
Oh yes – just had another look and spotted a mini, MGB, and MG Roadster in the background in some of your images – cool
The red one behind the Morgan is a stunning Austin Healey. I will have to do the British autos soon to make my British hubby happy 🙂
Yes – not always reliable but bags of character (cars, that is, not husbands 🙂 )
The Jaguars had their own section as did the Rolls and Bentley’s.
Chrome and wood trim with leather upholstery. Makes today’s plastic cars seem oh so, fake. Love the B/W shot.
Thanks. And the leather straps with what I assume was shearling underneath….this is an automobile!
Absolutely.
I really like this one in monochrome.
Thanks. It converted well.
You have presenting us with some beauties. Those old cars are quite beautiful…(Suzanne)
Merci! I took over 400 photos at the show so there will be more posts 🙂
Fascinating car – great in BW!
Thanks!
There were some rather rare birds there. Nice overall capture of this one.
There were some even rarer ones at the show to be featured eventually 🙂
What a wealth of photo experience. 1500 vehicles is huge. I hope you brought along something to sit on.
Didn’t stop at all of them, couldn’t find a few of them and walked and stood the entire time we were there! Phew!
Goodness. I’ve got a 18″ foldable stool that I use. It’s great for getting high above others and getting low as well.
I like traveling light to these events plus there were times where trying to stand on something would’ve been dangerous considering where some of the cars were parked. Sitting down was either on the grass or in the picnic area.
So amazing !!!
And very cool!
my car’s happy
to see its ancestors 🙂
Pleased your car is happy 🙂
Swoooooooning! Love this car. Nice captures of this beauty! The monochrome is brilliant.
Thanks 🙂 This was one silver beauty
