And now a word from our sponsors…

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta takes place the beginning of October for over a very busy and impressive nine days.  It is a massive undertaking what with 500+ balloons, their pilots and crews, thousands upon thousands of visitors coming from around the globe each day, vendors and their stands, the parking, entertainment, souvenirs,  public relations, the hundreds of volunteers who help keep it all humming (I love you golf cart drivers who take us from here to there) and so much more.  Phew!  It is truly a big deal but they’ve got this.

A great big thank you goes out to the wonderful sponsors who help make this the largest ballooning event in the world.  The presenting sponsor is Canon (Team Canon here)  Bimbo and Creamland Dairy Pure are just two of the official sponsors and then there are the many other sponsors such as Wonder Bread and Krispy Kreme; makers of those yummy donuts that I did not turn down.  Quite a few of these sponsors had balloons flying at the event with – in my opinion – Airabelle the Creamland Cow being one grade A balloon.  It was a sight to behold when she flew and to be perfectly honest, many of us were astounded by some of the special shape balloons taking off and flying.  I will share them with you in another post.  Get ready to be amazed!

Thank you all so very much for making the balloon fiesta the fantastic event that it is every year.

Great set of images. The first Saturday morning they had around 100,000 spectators on the field. There were times the crowd was packed so tightly around the vendor’s booths I had to walk out in the field to get by. The weather put a damper on the really huge crowds most of the time you were here, but lots and lots of people still came out as you saw.

  4. It looks like such fun. Kudos to the team sponsoring this. You made a nice set of images here. Cheers!

  5. How long are you here for? So beautiful!

This really is a wonderful idea and the sight of so many colorful balloons floating overhead must be something that will stick with you for sometime.

First off, these photos are incredible. This festival looks like a blast! I love that you used your blog to thank your sponsors. I think that it’s a great way to show appreciation for their donation(s). I also love how you mentioned that your sponsors had balloons flying in the festival as well. The photos of the sponsored balloons are interesting. I would have never guessed that sponsors would brand a balloon but it is pretty interesting to me. Thanks for your post!
