Hoot 2

I was this close to dubbing this post “hooters” but I couldn’t bring myself to do it 🙂   This was the first time I have ever witnessed an owl butterfly with it’s wings open.  Who knew the little hoots had such colorful upper wings!

    Those two are a real hootenanny! They have quite a colorful display on the backs of their wings. Beautiful photo.

      Thanks. I guess they evolved the big eyes underneath to prevent getting chomped since their tops are so colorful.
