Spring

It’s finally here and hopefully will stay until it is time to pass the baton to summer.  And with the change of seasons nature is slowly waking up and giving us back the colors we’ve missed so… and a lot of rain!  This photo is from my Instagram feed (@imagesbytd ) and was taken in St. Charles, Missouri – right outside of the restaurant where the baby and the pancake incident occurred – where at the time spring had sprung more than here in Ohio.

I don’t know what kind of tree this is but the little pink blooms were a welcome sight.

Nana strikes again!

The six of us (me, son, daughter in law, grandson #1, granddaughter and grandson #2) went to Denny’s for breakfast because someone was seriously craving some sausage, eggs and pancakes.  That person shall remain nameless but I bet you can guess who 😉  We hunkered into the big semi-circle booth and placed our orders.  That day I taught grandson #1 the joy (and yumminess) of putting an over easy egg on top of some hash browns and digging in to get a bite of both – he is now converted!

But as the little one lay there quietly sleeping I was seized by the urge to photograph his sweet innocence in some mischievous ways.  One day when he is older and sees these he will laugh…or not.

Special Delivery

Did you know that UPS delivers babies now? Fancy that!  But really, I am back (although not quite organized yet – the email I have to sort through is unreal) and missing the family greatly.  Especially this sweet little four month old nugget who I could not put down the entire visit – except for a couple of diaper changes when I happily handed him back.  It was a wonderful visit filled with love and joy….and some of our usual family crazy 🙂

Where’s Mr. Peabody?

Let’s see who get’s it.  I will be on spring break next week – well let me clarify that – the kids will be on spring break next week and I will be joining them.  DH cannot come with me so watch out world here she comes!  Then again, how much mischief can I get into when I will be with a 13, 11 and 4month old?

On second thought don’t answer that 😉

What are you drinking?

These photos were taken with my mobile phone after having a nice dinner and some drinks at the Bar Harbor Beerworks on Main Street.  The duck confit tacos I had were amazing (yes I know, not your classic taco but I was enjoying them so much a table next to us asked what I was eating and proceeded to order the same) but the blueberry soda was too too sweet for me.  It was like drinking a melted Popsicle.

Now at another drinking establishment a few doors down there was this “scientific” sign which answers a question not sure that was asked 🙂  Be careful out there today if celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.  Those green drinks can get to you if you aren’t careful.

What’s showing?

I can only imagine how beautiful the Acadian night sky is because we always rose very early to beat crowds; by the evening it was dinner and done for the day!  To learn a little more about this historic theater – such as the theater’s founder being a convicted bootlegger who went legit after serving his time in federal prison – read here.
