Lady’s Slipper

Really?  Why they were named this still amazes me – I mean c’mon! But they are still fascinating orchids nonetheless.

    Terri, it looks exactly like a slipper to me! Beautiful photo. Someone gave me an orchid plant the other day (never had one before), and I am hooked. It is a similar color as the one in your photo (different type of orchid) and it is so gorgeous.
