Well, another year down and more to come. This year has seen so many things happen in the world and sadly too many of them were tragic and just downright ugly! I won’t delve into those things but instead will review my year here with you. The year started in Arizona and ended in Missouri and Ohio. While in Missouri I had lunch with a cousin I never knew I had until I did that Ancestry thing. It was interesting…
I’ve photographed a myriad of butterflies, walked along Miami beach at sunrise and saw the total solar eclipse in Hopkinsville, Kentucky which was one of the coolest things ever! We attended Dragoncon and I had an absolutely great time. You don’t know what fun is until you’ve partied with a bunch of cosplayers into the wee hours of the morning. That party included a bunch of guys dressed like Lord of the Rings wizards handing out Mardi Gras beads while holding staffs made of beer cans. That was a party I wont soon forget!
There were new old barns explored, street photography, a photo safari to a wild animal park, flowers, food trucks and fireworks. I grew my best garden ever and for the first time made my own hot sauce. There was the visit to an orchard with the best peaches I’ve had in who knows when; happiness is fresh fruit picked right from the tree that you eat right then and there. And we watched the grandchildren grow up too quickly.
While the year did have some challenges which I am still dealing with, I’d rather look back on the year and smile and look forward to bigger, better and bolder in the new year. The resident technical support guy says I need my computer updated – he said that not me. That always frightening because I’ve yet to have an update that didn’t come with some frustrations like incompatible programs, etc.
Happy 2018 everyone and cya later I hope 🙂
Looks like you had a fun year!
Thanks. I suppose one could say that 🙂

Dragoncon sounds like it was amazing. They go all out in Atlanta, but I’ve never been to one. It’s on my to-do-list. If I do, I’m going as Selene. I have the boots, corsets, and the trench coat (custom made) haha. Bought them for a Halloween music festival I plan to attend this year. Can’t wait!
Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Glad I was able to see this one. ^_^
And don’t you live in/near Atlanta? Get off the list and do it! I did Harley and Agnes from Despicable Me (unicorn and all) when I was there. Just be prepared for crowds – lots of crowds and lots of lines! If nothing else try and see the parade.
Oh, I was right by the parade last time — haha. But I had work to do the last two years in a row, so I didn’t make it. Despicable Me is one of the best movies of all time!
And I was right on a curb taking these photos of it screaming my head off! It took me forever to find that yellow striped shirt for Agnes LOL
I don’t remember if I got pictures. I don’t think I did. But I did meet a few of them. One guy was a giant squirrel. Not sure if that was a character or his own invention. 😂
Awww you missed me. I was sitting on the curb right across from the Hooters and in front of the Hard Rock. So many variations on a theme show up there it’s hard to tell sometimes 😉
You were in Atlanta for it last year?? 0_0
Yes I was 🙂
Really? Damn. Next time you have to let me know, haha.
