I have been attending the annual orchid show at the conservatory since 2012 and I’ve seen so many wonderful varieties year after year. This visit was a little different because we were between snow storms at the time and there was snow and ice not only around the buildings but on them.
This made for some interesting photos of orchids with snowy scenes behind them for the ones near windows. Plus there was the noise. Noise? The sun made an appearance for awhile resulting in some of the ice and snow melting and sliding off the building with a crash. There were a couple of times the sound was loud enough to make visitors stop to look and see if someone had dropped or knocked over something inside.
In this photo you can just see the dome of part of the conservatory and the surrounding snow on the ground in the background.
