Waiting for a handout or dropped bait

The number and species of birds that visited the pier each day was amazing.  What was also amazing was how close they would get to or fly over humans… really really close especially if you were fishing from the pier or were eating something.

I’ve seen Hitchcock’s The Birds and  I’ve been “cautious” around birds ever since!

Such a blessing to have such great variety in your back yard.

I remembering Hitchcock’s Birds…scary!! Now that bird (*gull I guess) looks a tad unhappy!

Pretty bird… but they will steal!

My son was 4 years old fishing off a pier. He caught one and was reeling it in. But half way up … an egret flew in and stole it right off his hook.

We laughed for hours and so did my little guy! Who is now 30!
