I’ve been absent from this corner of the internet for so many reasons; reasons that have worn me down both mentally and physically (but if you follow me on Instagram (@imagesbytd) you’ve seen bits and pieces of it) that I nearly let myself get physically ill.
So there was a week when I was back in Missouri helping to take care of my sister who had major surgery (she is doing better but not out of the woods just yet) and to get in a much needed side order of seeing my son and his family. The almost 3 year old grandson is talking as in “Nana, sit down!” when he wanted me to sit next to him as he played incessantly with his cereal. The 13 year old granddaughter is a typical teen girl; on the cell phone with her friends and hyped about a dance coming up. The 15 year old grandson’s voice has changed and he now has a real mustache instead of the 5 or 6 hairs on his upper lip when I saw him last. Sigh…how they grow up too quickly!
I did have one chunk of time when I was able to go visit one of my favorite old haunts (literally and figuratively this time) for a few hours between family duties; historic Old St. Charles, Missouri which was decked out for the upcoming haunting holiday. I must hand it to the folks there, when they do the holidays (see here for a post about their Christmas traditions) they go all out!
Before that trip, and by before I mean I had a week break between airplanes, we were in Arizona to be with DH’s family who were having a mini- reunion as his aunt and uncle from England came over for a visit. While there I was a bit taken down by the heat (which at the time locals said was “cool” at 70’s in the morning and mid 90’s by the afternoon) and missed out on one gathering to stay in and get re-hydrated. I know, I goofed there!
There were some pictures taken of some beautiful cactus blooms but I seem to have misplaced those files somewhere. When I find them I will post them.
[ Insert missing photos here – hahaha]
I almost forgot! A few days before the Arizona trip I was covering our annual Highball Halloween event here in Ohio. Again will share more of those images later.
But the best news of all? I’m getting ready for my first big art show. The event will be held here in Columbus, Ohio on November 21st and as the tag line for the show says ” Showcasing the independent community.” There will be a variety of genres and artists featured which include singers and musicians, fashion designers, painters and sculptures and of course… photographers. Entertainment and art!
The entire loft of my house is covered in prints, frames, mats, wire and more. I’m really hyped about this show as it will be the biggest one I’ve been in to date. Check out my artist page here RAWArtists and you will see some of the images I will have in the show for sale. And this is the part where I mention that – if you wish – you may sponsor me by purchasing a ticket to the event. Each ticket sold on my site goes directly to help me and I would be so so appreciative.
Thanks and see you again when I come up for air… whenever that might be. Phew!

Waldo’s enough to scare any crow. Have fun with your show.
Thanks, Tim!
Take good care of yourself – first and foremost! Sometimes a break from blogging is just necessary.
Thanks and a break from adulting sounds wonderful 🙂
Have a great time with the exhibition. I hope your sister recovers well.
Thanks! Really psyched about it and thank you for the wishes for my sister.
You know I’d buy a ticket to the show to support you if I was anywhere near that side of the Mississippi. Enjoy the exhibition and sending cyber hugs for all the other stuff going on. We’ll be here when you’re ready to return to the blogosphere. I’m still on my own needed break!
After Halloween I may be laying low again until after the show. Hopefully no monkey wrenches get in my way.
Hugs! Hope all is going better now for you. Wish I could come to the show.
Wish you could too! You’d enjoy it I am sure. Going well? Ehhhhhhhhhhh a bit better but I am physically and mentally exhausted!
They do grow up! Good luck with the exhibition.
Thanks and yes they do! I hate it when they get taller than me though 😉
Congratulations! Your show will be awesome for sure! Wish I was close by. Wishing you all the best!
Thank you 🙂
