Christmas in New York

I’ve been away crossing yet another item on my bucket list of places to see and  experience.  This time it was visiting New York when they pull out all the stops decorating for the holidays.  There were times when I was transported back to being a child staring at the department store window displays downtown in St. Louis and then there were times when I was a bit “grinchy” from ALL of the people!

If you think NYC is crowded, try being there during this holiday season.  Very very congested but with help from DH, some friends I texted, a phone app (Citymapper – highly recommend it; works in many different cities), and just knowing my way around some places – I got around.  Several days of our stay I was totally on my own and with Metro card in hand I rode the trains like a local.  Sorta.

This is just a small part of the decorations around the entry to the Peninsula Hotel on 5th Avenue I decided to do in monochrome.  Not only did the department stores have larger than life decorations but some of the hotels and business centers did too.  More from the Peninsula coming next…

Wow, I’d love to see NYC decorated up, with a light dusting of snow. Can’t afford to stay at the Peninsula though. 😦
