I’m sitting here listening to the cold wind howl outside (weather forecast says some serious wind gusts are coming this way) and hoping we don’t lose power – again! Such is life; you don’t always get what you want. My 2019 began in Oceanside, California and I must say being on a beach for New Years Eve and the first day of a new year ain’t too shabby!
But wherever you may be for this leaving of one decade and beginning of another, I hope you are safe and with those you care most about. This year saw us in 7 different states and while I miss traveling somewhat, I don’t miss the turmoil of being in an airport when they tell you for the umpteenth time that your flight is delayed!
I’ve gone hiking more this year than I believe I ever have in my life and I actually like it. I’ve met four new cousins I gained from a DNA test and I’ve met in real time two denizens from the blogsphere. One tried to “kill” me hiking and the other is going to teach me how to navigate the NYC subway system. I’m thinking death by hiking might not be so bad 😉
I think the most amazing thing I experienced in all of 2019 was my seeing the Milky Way for the first time in my life; it’s something I have to do again! Seeing a moose very very close up is a close second. DH and I are going to put our heads together to see what kind of lists we can come up with for memorable experiences for 2020. Why is a volcano at the top of both of our lists is beyond me but it is and he wants to drive the Skyline Drive as well as that one drive that goes from Miami to Key West. Road trips!
Happy New Year everyone and see you in 2020!
