Another year around the sun

This past weekend I celebrated being alive for another day, week, month and year.  It was a different celebration than any before as it was done so under the cloud of a pandemic.  There was no travel other than no more than an hour away from home.  Social distancing was in effect and masks are mandatory in many places here.

But we made the most of it and enjoyed the weekend.  I even made myself a Happy Birthday mask!  I did do one thing I’ve never done before and that was finally getting into the water at a local lake… after having lived here for almost 10 years now.

I liked it!

We explored a couple of parks with DH taking pictures of me holding my birthday balloon; it’s a new tradition he came up with.  My birthday and I will use whatever props I please!  There were phone calls and Facetime chats from family we cannot visit yet; the 3 year old singing Happy Birthday was the best.

But can anyone identify this flower for me?  I didn’t see a sign near it and I have no idea what kind it is.  Thanks…
