My first Bald Eagle that is! Having connected with the local birding community, we were told by a couple of bird photographer friends to go to two areas in Ohio – Killdeer Plains Wildlife Area and Big Island Wildlife Area for a chance at some interesting birds. These two locations are big for birding as well as hunting.
Rabbit season! Duck season!
It was at Big Island that we looked up and this magnificent creature came soaring in. I was beyond thrilled and wished I had a longer lens but not wanting to risk scaring it off I took the 400mm shots and was very happy. Hope your weekend is a happy one.

Oh wow, you got amazing photos Teri. The top one is frame-worthy.
Gracias 🙂 A couple of weeks later I captured another one at a different location. Practice can be fun sometimes.
No matter the lens, no matter the quality of the photo, spotting one of these always is a thrill. I especially like the second shot — feet forward to land!
Thanks and aren’t those claws scary!
I’m glad I’m not a fish!
Perfect landing you captured there. Beautiful photos of a magnificent bird, proud trophies from the shoot 🙂
I was very happy this day, thank you 🙂
Wow! These are wonderful photos! So happy you finally saw an eagle! I hope you see many more!
Thank you and since then I’ve seen a few more!
Simply FAN.TAS.TIC!
Thank you so much 🙂
FABULOUS! its always wonderful to see an Eagle. We have one on the lake.
Thanks and cool! Are any in Arizona?
Yes… although I have not seen them.
They are seen more from October to May. Some have been seen at Saguaro Lake. (Remember where the three of us had a picnic?)
So … yes we have Eagles in AZ.
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you!
