Autumn Leaves

Autumn is the season known most for the beautiful colors of the changing leaves.  But conversely, it’s a very temperamental season for the same reason.  If the temperatures aren’t just so then the leaves don’t produce their vivid colors.  If it’s too dry, same thing happens but if it’s too wet then any leaves that do change colors may get blown off by the wind and rain.

Leafed if you do and leafed it you don’t!

It’s all about timing things just right because sometimes if you blink… you miss it all!  I was fortunate to have timed things just right for this photo because even though there was still a lot of green going on, the leaves were on the trees still and bursting forth in their glorious colors… and then two days later we had a heavy rain come through and all of this was on the ground and in the water.

But right here on this day exactly one week ago, it was everything one could want for an autumn scene.  How’s the leaf situation in your neck of the woods by the way?

Great capture, with the colours and that wonderful mirroring.

  2. You are totally right and this year it seems that the Fall colours came early and were short-lived, at least around where we leave (Quebec, Canada). We did a short trip to hike among the colours and we got there and most of the leaves were on the ground…very frustrating. You did well with this photo. (Suzanne)

The colors have been spectacular this year, right?

    Beautiful.

Stunning autumn colors ~ a breath of fresh air just viewing this. Great shot.

  6. Deb says:

Beautiful colours and great reflection, the water is just like glass 🙂

  7. This is beautiful, Teri. You still have (or had) a lot of foliage. It’s almost bare in most spots here. I’d have to go south to get any photos.

Timing is everything and I’d say you timed this perfectly!
