Another image of one of the eagles. I’m not even sure how to tell them apart; both birds were equally spectacular to see and the sound the wings made upon take off? Wow! They always look so serious and a bit intimidating.
By the way, anyone know how to tell a male from a female?

Eagles are such noble birds.
They really are! Thanks, Tim.
The male is usually larger but it’s not always obvious unless they are together.
Looked it up and the female is just a bit larger than the male but hard to tell unless they are standing next to each other with a tape measure 😁
Interesting! Both are sitting on the same branch at the same position. From the grip on the branch, the eagle in yesterday’s photo seems to have talons which cover the branch a bit more, so I think this is the male and yesterday’s was the female 🙂
Hope to one day get a photo of both of them together to do that comparison 🙂
Don’t know how to tell male from female. You might ask Wayne from Tofino Photography in Washington. He does a lot of eagle photography, and seems to know his subjects well.
