Animals at the Renaissance Festival

You didn’t think the festival was only about people coming to eat, drink and be merry (along with dressing for the occasion) did you? Verily I say unto thee that the festival is more than that. There are also shows to see, some that include animals.

The people from Midwest Falconry brought their group of falcons – and other birds of prey – to perform for the crowds. Except for that one time when one of the falcons went on strike and took off straight into a tree and needed much coaxing to come back to glove.

Some of the biggest crowds queue up early for the jousting arena and the brave nights that go at targets and then each other. But first they must get their noble steeds ready to do battle. I will share the jousting soon.
