These photos were taken with my mobile phone after having a nice dinner and some drinks at the Bar Harbor Beerworks on Main Street. The duck confit tacos I had were amazing (yes I know, not your classic taco but I was enjoying them so much a table next to us asked what I was eating and proceeded to order the same) but the blueberry soda was too too sweet for me. It was like drinking a melted Popsicle.
Now at another drinking establishment a few doors down there was this “scientific” sign which answers a question not sure that was asked 🙂 Be careful out there today if celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Those green drinks can get to you if you aren’t careful.
I don’t have any shamrocks, blarney stones, shillelaghs, or banshee photos just this image of a philodendron to represent the showing of the green. No Guinness or Smithwick’s but I may run to the pub or grocery store for a good Magners Irish cider. I haven’t cooked any corned beef and cabbage but maybe they will be serving it at the pub with the cider – twofer! And I refuse to drink any green beer and don’t come near me with green eggs and ham either. Sorry Dr. Seuss, ain’t happening.
So while wearing my green and blue plaid shirt I say this to you:
May God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
Have a happy and safe St. Paddy’s Day – Sláinte
While at a pub enjoying a pint and watching the entertainment of bagpipers and wee lasses tapping their little hearts out, I read a sign that said St. Patrick is actually Scottish. Well what do you know! Enjoy your wearing of the green today and your Irish foods but do not come near me with any green beer! ICK!
Here’s a beautiful green 1935 Ford V8 to wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day
