Last weekend my intent was to celebrate another year around the sun for the entire weekend. Things started out well as you can see from the image here; balloons, smiles, dressing up (I’d almost forgotten how to wear heels) and dinner out with martinis. Hurray for martinis!
When I celebrate, I celebrate.

Friday went well. Saturday started at the beach by the lake here, then lunch and dinner with more dresses and heels. My family in Missouri sang Happy Birthday to me with the four year old grandson giving me the best rendition ever π₯° But that evening while doing my before retiring for the night ritual of brushing teeth – disaster struck!
Get ready to cringe.
There was a clinking in the sink which was my crown falling out and trying to make it’s way down the drain. Quick reflexes saved the crown but it took me some time to figure out how to put it back in the correct way. That cancelled Sunday’s plans for more celebrating; nothing but soft stuff for me. Monday arrived as it usually does after a Sunday and I was able to get an appointment at my dentist’s office. The crown has to be replaced he says as there was some “issues” underneath it courtesy (not really) of the prior dentist – grumble grumble. Wednesday was back to the dentist to get things fixed properly (let’s hope so but I feel confident) and after an hour and a half, I got a temporary crown glued in while the new one is being made at Crowns R Us. In two weeks I go back and get poked in the jaw again.
Did I mention that during this dental dilemma my car was also in the shop due to some transmission issues? When it rains it pours.
Today I have my car back and I’m finally able to chew things a bit more substantial than cottage cheese but my jaw is still tender and I’ve been admonished to not eat certain sticky and crunchy foods else the temporary tooth will try to make a run for it.
There goes popcorn with a movie night. Talk to you later – Teri π¦·
A belated Happy Birthday to you! π
Thank you π
Sounds like a fun birthday celebration up until the crown issue … the worst. But hey, you looked great! Happy Bday π Cheers to another year.
At least it fell out AFTER all of the eating and drinking for that day! Thanks π
Happy Birthday.
Thanks, Tim.
Happy belated birthday! So glad you got to do some celebrating before the crown fell out!
Thanks and me too!!!!
Happy Birthday. We need a constitutional amendment barring dental problems, mechanical malfunctions and other nastiness on one’s birthday.
Thanks and I second, third and fourth that!!!!!
Happy Belated Birthday, Teri! Sorry to hear about the crown.
Thank you, Lavinia! I’m just happy it didn’t hurt much and it was after the birthday dinner π
At least the timing was good. π
A much belated Happy Birthday to you Teri ππ you look great in the photo.
And I feel sorry that the dentals came in the way of enjoying extended birthday savouries, but at least the crown is safe. Mine had come off stuck to a chewing gum once π
Thanks! I was warned not to go near anything sticky for some time.
