On the road again – Cape May, New Jersey

This isn’t the Jersey shore that you may think of when it comes to terrible “reality television.”  This is the Jersey shore that dreams are made of.  Summers spent there by many families for generations.  Homes that look like Victorian gingerbread houses; so colorful and amazing architecture!  Ocean as far as the eye can see, salt water taffy, the boardwalk,  plenty of good seafood, and romantic bed and breakfast places.  How Cape May looks now I’m sure isn’t too far off from when we were there for part of our honeymoon several years ago.  Thankfully hurricane Sandy that went through in 2012 didn’t effect it like it did further up the shore.

It really is a beautiful town and Freda’s Cafe there serves some of the best chowder and she crab soup I have ever had! Give Cape May a visit if you can, it really is lovely.  I hope to go back one day and maybe even stay in the same bed and breakfast that we stayed in as newlyweds 🙂

When we were in the USA we went to Long Beach Island I think it is in Jersey… I was so impressed with the houses there… also the opulence shown in some houses and their yachts…
    Love these photos…

Never been there but you’ve tempted me. It does look like a grand area.

Living in Delaware I have never gone to the Jersey Shore…weird right? I only go to the Delaware beaches because they are FREE!

That does look like a wonderful town, Teri. and a fantastic vacation spot. How lucky that Sandy went ashore further north and relatively spared them.
