I’ve used both but the real name of the mountains are the Superstition Mountains. I wasn’t the least bit superstitious as I traipsed around the area but I don’t think I would do it today – Friday the 13th.

Beautiful – love the way the clouds add depth.
Thank you. It reminded me a bit of that scene from Close Encounters of the Third King.
Just beautiful!!! Did you find the Lost Dutchman’s gold?
Thanks! Got too dark so we had to call off the hunt 😉
Oh it is too – often I know the date but not the day!! Hope you have a good one! c
Hope your day is good and warm enough too! t
You never know who might lurk around there on Friday the 13th.
Exactly! Although this day I only ran into dogs, horses, quails and a few reasonable humans.
Love that place. One day I hope to show you a few of my favorite hikes! We might even invite Ms. Nancy 😆
I look forward to it! Each year I seem to get closer to going into them with you as lead it will be a cinch!
how nice!
a remembrance
from my eastern AZ years 🙂
Thank you.
Great shot, Teri. Wonder how it got its name?
Probably from some old grizzled prospector 🙂
Nice Image of the Superstition Mountains. Have read about this place. If it’s all true, I wonder if it really is or just superstition. I truly wonder if their is a Dutchman’s Gold Mine there somewhere.
In every tale there is a little nugget of truth somewhere. Thank you for commenting.
Your Welcome. Anytime.
Beautiful photo, Terry! Now I know what they look like. The late Kate Wolf wrote a song about those mountains.
I am happy you liked the photo and thanks for the song.
